On April 29, Ken Booth, MDG’s Mountain Region Manager attended the grand opening of the Butte County Association of Governments (BCAG) and B-Line Butte Regional Transit Operations and Maintenance Facility in Chico, California.
Construction for the 51,000 square feet of new bus operations and maintenance areas that will serve B-Line’s needs for the next 50 years cost approximately million for this phase of construction. New buildings for this phase include six service bays in the 16,800 square foot maintenance building, a new fueling facility, a new bus wash facility, and a 15,200 square foot administration and operations building to house BCAG/B-Line offices. A future remodel of the existing administrative offices and maintenance building will provide space for a Board room, conference room, and additional offices. Pursuing LEED Gold certification, the new facility incorporates several innovative, sustainable design strategies.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, MDG helped plan and design the new bus operations and maintenance facility.
“This impressive facility will be something B-Line can utilize to serve their current and future transit needs,” noted Ken Booth after visiting the new facilities during the grand opening celebration on April 29.
