MDG - A Look Back

Throughout MDG's 20th Anniversary year, we will continue to highlight some of the milestone events of our first 20 years in business. Also, be sure to check our social media sites for "Throwback Thursday" posts for pictures of MDG staff, projects, and events over the years.

MDG began work on the City of Chula Vista Corporate Yard. This project started as a master planning effort to redevelop, expand, and improve the former San Diego Gas and Electric Corporation Yard Complex, then progressed into a new joint city/transit maintenance facility and CNG fueling station.

MDG begins work on the first of many successful projects for Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) - the Division 9 Master Plan. Current projects include the new Division 13 Bus Operations and Maintenance Facility and the Expo Rail Line Operations and Maintenance Facility.

Jon Holler, Western Region Manager, and Steve Radomski, Eastern Region Manager, join MDG. Both Jon and Steve brought extensive experience with transportation facilities from their respective tenures working with longtime MDG partner, RNL.

MDG begins work on the Gold Coast Transit District Bus Administration and Operations Facility. The facility will be located on a new site to accommodate Gold Coast's expanding needs. In addition to administration and operations, the site will include a fleet maintenance and repair building, CNG bus fueling station, bus wash, and maintenance support facilities.

MDG Offices Stand Up for Transportation

Maintenance Design Group showed their support for public transportation on April 9 by participating in Stand Up for Transportation Day. All four regional offices participated in the nationwide event, attending their local rallies and press conferences or, in Baltimore's case, going out and making their own event.

The Houston office attended their local rally bright and early at 6:00 AM at the Texas Medical Center METRO Transit Station. They met with local councilmen and participated in discussions regarding the expansion of the public transportation system.

While there was no official event in Baltimore, the MDG team rallied together and visited the local transit agency (MTA) to show their support.

The Los Angeles office attended a press conference organized by LA Metro held at Union Station near the Patsaouras Transit Plaza.

The Denver office marched in a unity parade through lower downtown Denver and attended a rally, where Denver's Mayor, Michael Hancock, as well as RTD Board Members, CDOT leaders, and community non-profits spoke out in support of investing in infrastructure.
