With more than 30 years of experience in the industry, Don is recognized as one of the leading experts in the United States in the planning and design of operations and maintenance facilities. Since his days at RTD in Denver working on his first bus maintenance facility, he has been inspired to address the challenges of complex facility industrial design projects with innovative solutions. His passion for making a difference in the industry is based on his desire to elevate the quality of the work place environment. In 1995, Don formed Maintenance Design Group, LLC to assist owners, architects, and engineers with the complex issues in the design of public works, transit, and other maintenance facilities. His experience encompasses programming, master planning, facility functional design, and preparation of equipment requirements and specifications. He has worked on more than 500 projects across North America, including the planning and design for municipal facilities, transit bus and rail maintenance facilities, and school district facilities. He also has designed operations and maintenance facilities for airports, universities, water, wastewater, postal service, and resort clients.
