Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority Operations Space Assessment

Ann Arbor, Michigan

Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) recognized the likelihood that their organization would grow significantly by the year 2018 as they reached full implementation of their five-year Transit Improvement Program. As they reach their limit of physical space, AAATA required a functional needs assessment to prepare for and manage this growth in the future.

As part of the Design Team, HDR | MDG assisted with the functional needs assessment, comparing existing spaces to future space requirements. This assessment will guide, inform, and assist AAATAA with strategic directions in terms of future space needs. Phase 1 of the study quantified functional facility needs and saw the development of conceptual alternatives to address those needs, while Phase 2 will guide site selection and site design.
