City of Palm Coast Public Works Facility Master Plan

The City of Palm Coast’s existing Department of Public Works (DPW) facility’s condition, size and working conditions do not meet their operational needs, working and safety standards. Maintenance Design Group, as part of the design team, led the programming and master planning for a new facility to that will anticipate the growth within the City, address future community needs and ensure that the expected level of service maintaining City facilities and infrastructure will be met in the future.
The divisions within the DPW include Administration, Fleet/Facilities, Landscaping/ Parks, Sign & Signal/Special Projects, and Stormwater Swales. During programming interviews with each division, MDG identified the functions, hours of operation, staffing levels, employee parking requirements, key planning issues, and adjacency requirements. The Fleet/Facilities Division currently maintains over 528 vehicle from DPW and other City agencies, including Fire, Water and Wastewater Departments. During an interactive collaborative design charrette, the design team generated alternative site plan options for review and comment by the users resulting in the selection of a recommended master plan.
- Master plan allows phased construction of 100% new facilities on their existing site while maintaining existing operations.
