Solano Community College District Auto Technology Building

Vallejo, California

Solano Community College District’s (SCCD) Auto Technology program is currently housed in a leased facility. SCCD plans to build a new facility on its Northgate site to address expansion of the program and to provide the region with a state-of-the-art auto tech building. The new facility will feature public display space for industry partnerships and the integration of “smart” classrooms to allow for versatility of instruction and program use.

The auto tech building is being designed for use today and in the future. The design team is integrating the existing equipment while allowing flexibility to anticipate future equipment needs. Spaces in the new building include automotive repair and alignment instructional bays, automotive testing areas, automotive parts storage, manufacturers’ display area, offices, classrooms, a tutoring center/conference room, student lounge, and general support spaces. Exterior vehicle storage and circulation will accommodate approximately 50 vehicles.
