TEX Rail Equipment Maintenance Facility

TEX Rail (operated by the “T”) is a 27-mile commuter rail line that will follow the existing rail lines from downtown Fort Worth northeast to Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) Airport. The project includes construction of a new Equipment Maintenance Facility (EMF) that will maintain eight new Diesel Multiple Units (DMU) rail vehicles. MDG was a an integral part of the Design Team,  led by Huitt-Zollars,  to develop a comprehensive design for the new EMF. The facility features a train storage tracks Fueling Canopy, Train Wash Bay, Heavy Repair Bay, Service and Inspection Bay, Shop Space, Parts Storage, an Upper-Level Work Platform, and an Administration and Operations Office Area. The facility will accommodate 266 foot DMU vehicles- the longest train of this type in operation in the United States.
