Victor Valley Transit Authority Maintenance & Operations Facility

Hesperia, California

The new VVTA facility houses administrative, operations, maintenance, bus servicing facilities, and a solar panel bus shade structure on a 10-acre site. Maintenance Design Group was selected to manage the project and provide design services through the construction of the facility.

The design team identified LEED opportunities to be used for planning and designing the new facility. The facility design includes sustainable design features and has been submitted to the USGBC for LEED Gold Certification.

Project Highlights
• The facility is situated in an undeveloped area of the City on a major north-south arterial. The progressive design is expected to set the stage for the quality of future development.
• The compressed natural gas (CNG) facility is accessible for the fueling of public vehicles.
• The photovoltaic solar panel system will provide the energy demands for the entire facility and the CNG fueling system. A surplus of electric power will be provided to the grid.
