Green Bay Transit Authority Transit Center

Green Bay, Wisconsin

Maintenance Design Group, as part of a design team led by a local architect, provided transit facility design expertise for a transportation center and maintenance facility in Green Bay. The facility acts as an administrative, operations, maintenance, and passenger transfer center for Green Bay’s 60-bus fleet. Whereas most transit facilities house maintenance and operations separately from passenger traffic centers, the design challenge in Green Bay was to incorporate the bus traffic with passenger traffic while maintaining a smooth-running terminal.

Maintenance Design Group assisted in the programming, master planning, and design services. Maintenance Design Group also conducted two charrette sessions, one to develop the space needs program and site master plan, and a second to develop the facility design. The Green Bay Transit Board was instrumental in the development and ultimately in gaining approval from the local neighborhood group for the facility design.
